History
Realizing that private businesses are the key to job creation, Caprock Business Finance Corporation, under the supervision of the South Plains Association of Governments was founded in 1981. In 1982, SPAG applied to the Small Business Administration (SBA) for designation as a Certified Development Company (CDC); certification was received the same year. To see more information about SBA, please visit the About SBA page. In 1996, Caprock expanded its service area to include 13 additional counties.  To see a map of our current service area, please visit the Counties Served page.

Caprock Business Finance Corporation is a private, nonprofit, community-based, development-oriented organization that assists small business access fixed-rate, long-term financing for real estate and equipment expansion projects. Caprock has industry knowledge and experience and is the only CDC in Lubbock and the surrounding area that administers the SBA 504 Loan Program.

We are committed to helping small businesses in the South Plains and Permian Basin regions. Due to Caprock's background and experience, it was designated as an Accredited Lender Program (ALP CDC) by the SBA. ALP status allows Caprock to provide faster application processing and expedited servicing.
